Mountain States Employers Council is conducting a major study to review the measurement properties of our current core opinion survey scales and items. Our primary goal is to re-confirm our previous validity study findings and provide further statistical evidence of the relationship between our survey scales and outcomes of employee engagement (e.g., motivation, loyalty, anticipated tenure). The process will help us make any changes necessary to keep our scales and items relevant. It will also allow us to identify the best predictors (statistically) of employee engagement outcomes and to offer a shorter survey in the near future.
We are also developing a tool to directly measure engagement and need to gather validity evidence. This process will require us to collect data using the newly authored items and items from our revised core opinion survey. For this part of the process, we need help from our members. Participating organizations are required to administer a fixed set of survey items and will receive organization-level results at no cost. However, there may be a nominal cost for those wishing to add additional items and/or additional reporting requests.
Our goal is to have the engagement survey ready for study participants by the end of November. It is at the discretion of the survey specialist to conclude the data gathering process once an adequate number of participants/organizations has been reached.
This opportunity is open to all members willing to assist us. For members who have never used our employee opinion surveys, this is a great introduction to one of our many service lines and an opportunity to conduct a survey at no cost.
